BOX SCORE GAME ONE

BOX SCORE GAME TWO

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University softball team won its sixth straight game with a sweep of a twinbill with East Stroudsburg on Sunday by scores of 1-0 and 14-2 in five innings.

In game one, the two teams battled through five and half scoreless innings before the Huskies finally broke through with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Nikki Shiko (Kulpmont/Southern Columbia) led off the inning with a bloop single and moved to second on a walk to Jess Rosin (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison). After Missy Bachert (Coplay/Parkland) singled to load the bases with no outs, Kayleen Sidisky (Bellefonte/Bellefonte Area) singled to left field scoring Shiko. However, the Warriors escaped further damage by retiring the next three batters.

Ashley Lynn (Riverside/Danville) struck out the side in the top of the seventh inning giving Bloomsburg the win. In all, Lynn allowed just two hits and two walks, while fanning nine to earn her 15th win of the season.

Bloomsburg's other scoring opportunity came in the fourth inning when the Huskies had two on and one out. However, East Stroudsburg got a strikeout and a fielder's choice to keep the game scoreless. East Stroudsburg's best chance to score came in the fourth as well when the Warriors had a runner on third with two outs, but Lynn got a strikeout to end the threat. Sidisky finished 2-3 with the RBI for the Huskies.

In game two the Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the second inning. Bloomsburg, though, rallied back with four runs in the bottom of the second. Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) had an RBI single and Rosin drove in two runs with a single.

East Stroudsburg cut the lead to 4-2 with a homer run in the top of the third inning, but the Huskies came back with two runs of their own in the home third. Lynn and Jen Miller (Muir/Williams Valley) each had an RBI in the inning.

Bloomsburg put the game out of reach with an eight-run fourth inning. The outburst was highlighted by a three-run pinch homer from Stacey Krupiewski (Trooper/Methacton) and a double off the bat of Jenn Davis (Center Valley/St. Patrick's-St. Vincent's).

Miller and Davis both finished the game 2-2 with two runs scored with Miller adding two RBI and Davis one.

Sheelin Fisher got the win with Lynn earning the save.

Bloomsburg, 27-10, 13-5 in the PSAC East, will host Millersville on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
